Zak Leever opened the night with a live indie pop set that got us movin', groovin', and begging for more. New York-local Musa debuted his first solo performance, fusing melodic synth stabs with Louis the Child / Flume / Cosmo's Midnight inspired beats. With boatloads of unreleased gems floating throughout his set, including an official TCS remix, do not sleep on this guy. When the Dutch producer / beatmaker / eargasm inducer Moods stepped on stage at Knitting Factory, an incomparable energy consumed the audience. We've never seen so many people dance like nobody's watching. Strongly influenced by hip hop legends Pete Rock and J Dilla, Moods mixed uniquely warm, soul-tinged hip hop, nu disco, and electronica into a performance that still has us stank facing.
